Management Consulting Services (MCS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Rockwell as its new Executive Director. Steve joined MCS in 2006 and currently serves as its Practice Leader, Technology. He succeeds the current Executive Director, Maureen Pompeo, who is leaving to open a private psychiatric hospital in Haverhill. In the short-term, Maureen has agreed to stay on as a senior advisor and to continue selected work with clients.
The Board of Directors unanimously approved Steve's appointment, impressed with his vision for combining business strategy, technology, and organizational capacity building to improve the ability of nonprofit organizations to produce social change. While relatively new to Boston, Steve has brought to MCS experience both in consulting and in leading large projects in the nonprofit sector. At the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania Steve founded a nonprofit technology consulting practice and led a large scale wireless internet implementation in two low-income neighborhoods in Philadelphia. He has consulted with national nonprofits on technology and expansion strategies and served as an AmeriCorps member following his graduation from Cornell University. Steve has recently completed a dual degree program at Harvard and MIT, earning an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School.
With Steve's leadership and the skill and energy of the MCS consulting team, we believe that MCS is poised to build successfully on its 20 year legacy of strengthening nonprofit organizations. We anticipate MCS continuing to play a leadership role in the sector by helping organizations succeed in their missions, building leaders and leadership support networks, and disseminating knowledge.
